Auf der derzeit stattfindenden größten und wichtigsten Comic- & Graphic Novel - Fachmesse der Welt, der "San Diego Comic-Con", wird Mega- Autor Neil Gaiman geehrt werden.
Daher haben DC COMICS jetzt das beeindruckende Cover- Artwork des Künstlers Dave McKean für "Sandman: Overture" #1 vorgestellt.
Retailer-website icv2 meint hierzu:
"With its collage effects and logo remix it is clear that this is the work of the same artist who pioneered this mixed media style with the daring cover for Sandman #1 back in 1988. But there is an assurance and maturity about this latest effort that makes it especially compelling."

Das amerikanische Entertainment Weekly Magazin durfte vorab exklusiv das erste Titelbild sowie die erste Splashpage (Eröffnungsseite) von "Sandman: Overture" # 1 vorstellen.
Der Innenteil (sowie das Variant-Cover Motiv jeder Ausgabe) von "Sandman: Overture #1" werden vom Künstler J.H. Williams III ("BatWoman") gestaltet.
"Sandman: Overture" ist Gaiman's erste "Sandman" - Storyline seit er die Original-Serie 1996 abschloß. Im Jahre 2003 folgte noch eine "Original Graphic Novel" (OGN) namens "Sandman: Endless Nights" (absolutes must-read-item!).
