Ab Juni im Kino: WONDER WOMAN (und am Samstag das passende Gratis-Comic-Heft!)

Die "dienstälteste" (erste) Superheldin überhaupt, Wonder Woman, kommt mit ihrem ersten eigenen Film im Juni in's Kino.

Dies ist dann bereits die dritte -!- Real-Verfilmung der Heldin (nach einem ziemlich mißglücktem Pilotfilm für eine WW- Serie in den 60er Jahren, der aber nie gesendet wurde  u n d   natürlich der sehr, sehr erfolgreichen kultigen "WW"- TV-Serie der 70er Jahre mit Lynda Carter).

Dean Cain, vielen noch bekannt durch seine Rolle als "Clark Kent / Kal-El / Superman" in der erfolgreichen 90er Jahre TV-Serie "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman" (und ja: er hatte auch zusätzliche Gastauftritte in anderen DC- Serien, z.B. in den 2000er Jahren in "Smallville" und erst kürzlich in der "Supergirl"- TV-Serie).

Wil Wheaton, von vielen geliebt (oder auch verabscheut?) für seine Rolle als "Wesley Crusher" an Bord der U.S.S. Enterprise-D in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (und in vergangenen Jahren auch häufiger in der "Big Bang Theory" zu sehen, als Widersacher von "Doktor Sheldon Cooper"). Es ist allgemein bekannt, das Wil ein großer Comic- Fan - und Sammler ist (wie z.B. auch seine Kollegen  Nicolas Cage oder Michael Rosenbaum ("Lex Luthor" in "Smallville"). Sie alle besitzen auch eindrucksvolle (nerdige) Comic-Sammlungen...

EISNER AWARDS 2017 - Die Nominierungen - Jetzt mit 100% mehr "Love Is Love"

...und hier nun die Liste der diesjährigen Nominierten für den "2017 Eisner Award". Die "Eisner Awards" gelten als die "Oscars" (Academy Awards) bzw. "Tonys" der US- Comic-Branche...

Zur Wahl stehen nur Titel bzw. Arbeiten, die in 2016 publiziert wurden!


Interessanterweise fehlte auf der gestern zuerst veröffentlichten Liste der Nominierten die mega-erfolgreiche Benefiz- Anthology "Love Is Love"...   Jackie Estrada, zuständig bei den "Eisners" für die Nominierungen begründete dies gestern noch allen Ernstes damit, "weil "Amazon" das Buch ja erst ab Januar 2017 im Verkauf hatte".   -wow-

 

An die Comic-Shops (weltweit) fand die Auslieferung aber bereits Mitte / Ende Dezember 2016 statt (zumindest bei uns im UNFUG war der Titel ab Weihnachten verfügbar und entwickelte sich in absoluter Rekordzeit zum Bestseller!) .

Schön, das man bei den "Eisners" doch noch ein Einsehen hatte, das der Erstverkaufstag im Comic- Buch- Fachhandel mehr "zählen" muß als ein Releasedate von  der (imo)  "weltweit größten virtuellen Verkaufs-Rampe ohne fachkundiges Beratungspersonal"...

Spider-Man TOM HOLLAND zum "Free Comic Book Day" 2017

...wie schon in den vergangenen Jahren so gibt es auch diesmal 

Werbe-Videos ("Botschaften") von Schauspielern, die in 

irgendeiner Form schon 'mal eine Comic-Figur dargestellt

haben... 

In diesem Jahr hat der (inzwischen bereits vierte)

 Spider-Man Darsteller Tom Holland das Wort.

...wir sehen uns am Samstag ab 11 Uhr in der Torstrasse. 

Zeichner - Legende George Pérez ("Wonder Woman", "Fantastic Four") nach Herz-Infarkt im Krankenhaus!

George Pérez mußte seine Teilnahme an der "East Coast Comic Con" kurzfristig absagen.

Hier ein Auszug aus dem Statement, das er nach der glücklich erfolgten (ersten) Herz-OP über seinen Agenten verbreiten lies:


"I am so genuinely flattered, humbled, and grateful for all the emails, texts, phone calls and messages that I’ve received regarding my latest medical situation. To clarify the facts to everyone: Yes, I did have a heart attack. 

George Pérez

I was on a plane leaving from Los Angeles, CA, heading to Secaucus, NJ for a comic convention when I started to feel some discomfort in my chest. It was mild and sporadic at first, but became more intense after I checked into my hotel in New Jersey. I called the front desk and they called for an ambulance. I also phoned my longtime friend and art agent Spencer Beck, who contacted my wife Carol, who was visiting friends in England. 

He figured correctly that news of my affliction and possible speculations could fill the social networks, and didn’t want Carol to find out that way. At first it was speculated that I may have had blood clots that may have reached my heart or lungs, but a second EKG determined that I had indeed suffered a heart attack with some rather severe blockage in some of the vessels. 

As of this writing, I have already undergone one operation to place a stent to clear the blockage on the right side of my heart and am scheduled to have the left side taken care of today..."
