Am Freitag, 13. Juli werden bereits zum 24. Mal, anläßlich der SDCC, die "Oscars der US- Comic Branche" -die EISNER AWARDS- im Rahmen einer feierlichen Gala-Veranstaltung verliehen. Austragungsort ist wieder das Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. Die Liste der Preisträger werdet ihr am kommenden Wochenende hier auf unserem Blog finden!

In diesem Jahr wurden 14 Künstler / Autoren nominiert, einen der vier zu vergebenden "Eisner Awards - Hall Of Fame" Preise für das Lebenswerk zu erhalten.

SDCC 2012: Star Wars Laserschwert- Staffellauf mit R2-D2, Chewy, Boba Fett und Robert Kirkman ("Walking Dead") !



Lucasfilm Ltd, Nerdist Industries, Octagon und Machinma werden auf der größten Comic- Fach- Messe der Welt, der SDCC 2012 (San Diego Comic Con) den Star Wars Fans die Möglichkeit bieten, sich von der "Macht" durchdringen und inspirieren zu lassen, während sie als Star Wars- Character kostümiert an einem olympischen Laser- Schwert- Marathonlauf (!) teihnehmen; das Ganze dient einem guten Zweck, der "Make-A-Wish Foundation".

Der Marathonlauf findet in den Tagen vor der SDCC 2012 statt, vom 07. bis 11. Juli. Registrierte Teilnehmer werden, ähnlich wie beim Staffellauf, das offizielle "Course Of The Force"- Laser-Schwert viertelmeilenweise tragen (quasi wie die Fackel-Läufer bei Olympia) ; die Laufstrecke führt vom Lucasfilm-Headquarter in Santa Monica zum Kongress- Zentrum in San Diego, dem Veranstaltungsort der SDCC.

Lucasfilm wünscht sich von den am Lauf teilnehmenden Fans ihr schönstes Star Wars- Kostüm zu tragen (aber auch Kostüme aus anderen Fanboy- Universen sind ausdrücklich erlaubt!). Teilnehmer werden die Chance haben schöne Star Wars- Preise zu gewinnen und dabei gleichzeitig die karikative "Make-A-Wish Foundation" zu unterstützen.

Die Veranstalter des "Course of the Force" Event haben ein wirklich originelles achtminütiges Video produziert (siehe unten), um die Fans in die richtige Stimmung zu bringen.

Die "Story" des Videos stammt von den derzeitigen Autoren von "SNL" (Saturday Night Live"), teilweise aufgezeichnet bei Lucasfilm und ILM (Industrial Light & Magic). Nerdist Channel’s Chris Hardwick versucht in dem Film verzweifelt das "offizielle" Lichtschwert zur SDCC 2012 in San Diego zu transportieren.

Inklusive Gast-Auftritten von R2D2, Boba Fett, Ewoks, Tusken Raiders, und The Walking Dead Creator (und bekennender SW- Fan) Robert Kirkman!
