eine Mail unseres japanischen Lieferanten aus Tokyo

Nach vielen schrecklichen Nachrichten und Berichten aus Japan erhielten wir heute morgen ein Lebenszeichen aus Tokyo, dass wir mit euch teilen möchten:

Dearest customers,

Thank you very much for your concern.

Yesterday at around 2pm, we felt our building shaking so strong that we had never experienced before.
So, we all the workers immediately got down out of the building from the second floor.
So many other people were already there watching surrounding buildings.
In front of us is a round tall building which was swinging so bad that we thought that it might fall down.

Then after a while, it is finished, so we returned to our office.
But after a while again shook so strong that we again got out.

Back to office to find only TV set fell down. Very fortunately, all the CDs were in no damage.

However, what came next was transportation problem as all the trains stopped and never seemed to start again.
So, Tokyo city streets were completely covered by people.
Then I went to Tokyo Station's bus terminal.
But what I found was over 300 meter long line to each bus stop.
In cold weather everybody was frozen, but just awaited for the next bus.
But again bus never came for 1 hour....so this line lasted over the night.
I finally got on one at 5 and when I finally arrived at my bus stop, it was 5:30, so you know, it's a half a day trip in rush packed bus of such short distance of only 20 miles or so to my town.
1 inch for 1 minute - you know this low speed because all the streets were also jammed, full of cars...
Thus Tokyo was panic and all services stopped.

Anyway we have survived and everything is ok.

On Monday we get back to normal.

Sincerely Yours,

Lt.Ogata
