"DCs NEW 52": blubb - blubb - blubb... Autor Geoff Johns über das JUSTICE LEAGUE / AQUAMAN - Crossover "The Throne Of Atlantis"

Justice League # 15

Zu Weihnachten startet DC den Crossover-Event "The Throne Of Atlantis" in JUSTICE LEAGUE #15; am gleichen Tag erscheint mit AQUAMAN # 15  der zweite Teil der insgesamt fünfteiligen Geschichte . Der Storybogen läuft abwechselnd durch beide DC Hit-Serien (zur Erinnerung: der lange von Fans verlachte Aquaman verkauft sich derzeit in den USA besser als etwa Fan-Favorit und Killermaschine "Wolverine"!)

 Im offiziellen PR-Text (auf DCs Blog) plaudert Autor Geoff Johns darüber, was der geneigte Fan der "Worlds Greatest Super-Heroes" von der nächsten Story erwarten kann:

“It’s the Justice League going up against Atlantis,” erläutert Johns. “The complexities to that, what Atlantis is, why they attack, what are their view points is really at the heart of the story. The politics and the laws of Atlantis are extremely different than ours and the reasons they attack are a set of circumstances that are a mystery at the center of the story. What triggers the war is a part of the mystery that unravels.” 

Die Halb-Brüder — "Ocean Master" und "Aquaman" — werden diesmal nicht "Gut" & "Böse" repräsentieren. Johns will in der Storyline  "Ocean Master" offensichtlich als vielschichtigeren Character darstellen; ähnlich wie "Sinestro" oder "Black Adam", die auch Held und Schurke zugleich sind...

"(Ocean Master) is someone who actually cares very much for his brother. He doesn't understand his brother, Arthur, at all. And he cares for him, because he's his brother. He has violent tendencies, just like all Atlanteans do, as we've also seen with Arthur. And he has a perspective on the surface world that's very different from Arthur's, but shared with the Atlanteans." 

Zu Beginn wird Aquamans Bruder Orm noch nicht als "Ocean Master" bekannt sein. Diesen "Künstlernamen" verdient er sich im Lauf der Geschichte. Johns beschreibt  "Throne of Atlantis" als
"character-focused"; das Crossover verspricht lt. Johns "reichlich Action Sequenzen" mit Atlantianern die die  Justice League bekämpfen sowie Gast-Auftritte anderer, bisher ungenannter DC - Helden.

Superman und Wonder Woman werden eine große Rolle spielen; ebenso Cyborg. " Everyone will have a big role. Just because Arthur is the focus doesn't mean everyone won't play a role. It's just that he gets a little more of the spotlight. And then as we move forward in Justice League, you'll see the spotlight rotate a bit in the second year. We will see other Atlanteans, but I’m not saying who just yet."

Mit dem Crossover zwischen beiden Serien werden auch die Zeichner-Teams der beiden Serien getauscht:  Paul Pelletier wird  "Aquaman" übernehmen, während das (dann ehemalige) "Aquaman"- Art-Team  Ivan Reis und Joe Prado die "Justice League" übernimmt!

Der Crossover Prolog findet sich in "Aquaman" #14 ! Der "offizielle" Start der Story ist dann in  "Justice League" #15 und erhält seine Fortsetzung in "Aquaman" #15, "Justice League" #16 und "Aquaman" #16 und kulminiert schließlich in "Justice League" #17. DCs vorab verbreitete Händler-Informationen  versprechen mit dem Ende der "Throne Of Atlantis" -Story auch eine Vergrößerung der Mitgliederzahl der Justice League.

JUSTICE LEAGUE #15 und AQUAMAN # 15 werden ab Weihnachten im UNFUG erhältlich sein!
