Fiona Staples und Brian K. Vaughan's epische Weltraum-Oper "pausiert auf unbestimmte Zeit"!
In der aktuellen Ausgabe (# 54 ) der mega-populären Image Heft-Serie findet sich ein Anschreiben des Autoren Vaughan, in der er diese "Pause" ankündigt bzw. versucht zu erläutern.
"After fifty-four issues and over 1,200 consecutive pages of sequential storytelling together, Fiona and I have decided to take an extended break before we eventually reunite with Saga Chapter Fifty-five,” so Vaughan.
“And unlike our usual three months of 'Vacationanza' between arcs, we plan to pause publication of this series for at least the next year."
Das ganze Konzept nennt sich bei ihm "Intermission"!
Die kompletten Details warum, wieso, weshalb (z.B. womit beschäftigen sich die Künstler in der Zwischenzeit bzw. künftig?) finden sich im aktuellen Heft.
Der (vorläufig) letzte Sammelband der Reihe, "Saga", Vol. 9, in dem die letzten Ausgaben der Heftchen-Reihe (## #49 – 54) nachgedruckt werden, wird im UNFUG ab 26. September erhältlich sein (Vorbestellung empfohlen!).
"Saga" startete sehr erfolgreich im März 2012 als Comic-Heft-Serie bei Image Comics (ebenso wie die zeitversetzt erscheinenden Sammelbände / "Graphic Novels").
Zudem gewann die Reihe mehrere "Eisner-" und auch "Harvey- Awards".

"Image’s Saga # 54 Rushed Back to Print Same Day as Release
Image Comics is thrilled to announce that issue # 54 of Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ multiple Eisner Award-winning series Saga - which marks the “season finale” of the space opera’s ninth arc, and the last issue before the series’ “intermission” - is being fast-tracked for a second printing in order to keep up with overwhelming customer demand.
Saga’s ninth - and most shocking - story arc tackles fake news and genuine terror through the lens of our favorite spacefaring family and their fellow outcast companions.
Saga # 54, 2nd Printing will be available on Wednesday, August 22nd.
Saga, Vol. 9 hits comics shops on Wednesday, September 26.
