(fast) ohne Kerle und im Vagina - Design: Grant Morrison's laaangerwartete OGN ("Original Graphic Novel") WONDER WOMAN - EARTH ONE
Nach vielen Jahren voller ominöser Anspielungen und Ankündigungen haben DC Comics nun "offiziell" schon 'mal das Cover-Motiv der von Grant Morrison verfassten und von Yanick Paquette gezeichneten OGN "Wonder Woman: Earth One" präsentiert.
Die website HitFix durfte gnädigerweise als erste "exklusiv" das von Paquette gestaltete Cover präsentieren; es zeigt Diana in einem recht "klassischen" Wonder Woman -Kostüm (inklusive einem Brust-Emblem, das sowohl das moderne Doppel-W-Logo als auch den klassischen Adler miteinander kombiniert). WW ist in Ketten gelegt; im Hintergrund sind Teile der griechischen Tempel-Anlagen der Paradies-Insel Themyscira zu sehen, sowie Diana's Amazonen-Schwestern u n d Donna Troy !
Wonder Woman folgt mit diesem Veröffentlichungsformat (einer "OGN") ihren anderen "Earth One"- Kollegen Superman, Batman und den Teen Titans.
Erscheinen wird "Wonder Woman: Earth One" im April 2016. Die "Earth One" Inkarnationen der DC -Charactere sind hier frei von der teils verwirrenden Kontinuität der Heftchen-Versionen (z.B. "New 52" etc.).
DC gelang mit der Schaffung dieser Graphic Novel - Reihe vor einigen Jahren ein besonders großer Erfolg im regulären US- Buchhandel (der sich sonst nach wie vor noch etwas schwer tut, wenn es um die vernünftige Präsentation von Comics bzw. Graphic Novels im Laden geht); jeder der Bände (Superman Vol. 1 - 3, Batman Vol. 1 + 2 sowie die TT Vol.1) hielt sich wochenlang auf der Bestseller-List der angesehenen "New York Times"!

Morrison und Paquette werfen in ihrer OGN einen neuen Blick auf die klassischen Ursprünge und die Origin von Wonder Woman, einer Heldin, die bereits 1941 vom Erfinder des Lügendetektors -William Marston- erfunden wurde.
Marston und seine Frau führten damals eine offene Dreier-Beziehung mit einer Frau; alle drei gaben sich zudem auch gern S/M- und Bondage -Praktiken hin. Der Lügendetektor findet sich in den Wonder Woman Comic-Stories als ihr "Lasso der Wahrheit" wieder, die S/M- und Bondage- Erfahrungen des Autoren dagegen spiegeln sich wider in zahlreichen "Wonder Woman"-Stories und Cover-Motiven des "Golden Age" (Jahrgänge bis etwa 1946), in denen WW mehr oder weniger regelmäßig von Schurken/Innen überwältigt und gefesselt wurde...! (erst mit einem neuen Autoren nahm die Zahl der Fessel-Darstellungen in den WW - Comics ab.)
In einem Interview mit cbr äußerte sich Autor Morrison begeistert über Paquette's Neu-Design für Diana's gläsernes Flugzeug, das diesmal wohl mösenförmig -!- daherkommen wird.
...und Kerle tauchen wohl zumindest in den vorderen Hälfte der Story nicht auf. Die (z.T. bekanntermaßen lesbisch lebenden) Amazonen bleiben unter sich! (Das einzig phallusförmige in dem Band dürften dann wohl die Säulen der griechischen Tempel sein ;)
Grant Morrison: "...Yanick Paquette did this amazing design job, where there are no phallic objects. The only phallic objects are like these Greek towers that are almost like this haunting echo of the culture they came from...
...Wonder Woman’s Invisible Plane is now shaped like a vagina, it’s the most incredible thing. It opens up in the back and it has a little clitoris hood, everything is a female-based design. It’s all based on shells and natural stuff. He’s created this entire newly designed world for the Amazons. And for the first 48 pages, there are no men -- it’s just women talking to each other."

DCs klassische Public Service Announcement Comics: Superman & Superboy über Flüchtlinge und Fremdenfeindlichkeit
...bis in die 60er Jahre hinein veröffentlichten DC Comics regelmäßig in ihren Heft-Serien sogenannte "Public Service Announcement"- Seiten. In
diesen i.d.R. one-pagern (also Comic-Strips deren Story innerhalb einer
Seite erzählt sind) sah man stets DC Charactere die dem (damals fast
ausschließlich) jungen Leser bestimmte Dinge des Sozialwesens und
Zusammenlebens erläuterten:
So warben dann etwa Batman & Robin bei Schülern dafür sich im Sportunterricht fair zueinander zu verhalten, der junge Superman (also Superboy) warb vor den Schülern der Smallville-High-School für die Vorzüge, die ein Mitgliedsausweis und regelmäßiger Besuch der Bibliothek haben usw.
Aus heutiger Sicht mögen die meisten dieser Strips rührend naiv wirken, auch wenn sie natürlich gut gemeint waren! Zumindest damals ein guter Weg um Jugendliche auch an "ernste" aktuelle Themen heranzuführen...
Hier nun ein klassisches Beispiel, in dem Superman den Lesern erklärt, was es eigentlich mit Flüchtlingen auf sich hat:

DC im Herbst: Dann kann die Prügelei ja losgehen: DARK KNIGHT III: THE MASTER RACE, BATMAN: EUROPA, SUPERMAN: AMERICAN ALIEN, SUPERMAN: LOIS & CLARK...
...in Vorbereitung auf den Kino-Start von "Batman V Superman" (der Fortsetzung des krawalligen "Man Of Steel" -Kinofilms) starten DC COMICS im Herbst diverse Mini-Serien und Prestige- books mit beiden Helden-Ikonen.
Die größte Medien-Aufmerksamkeit dürfte hierbei wohl DCs wieder-'mal Reaktivierung von Frank Miller ("Holy Terror", "300") hervorrufen.
